Mara Tented Camp is situated along the Muliban River in the Talek area in Masai Mara. Set amongst picturesque hills and rolling plains in prime game-viewing country.
A tented camp is the original safari, perfectly suited to smaller groups looking for an authentic “Out Of Africa” experience off the beaten track. You can relax on your private veranda, enjoying nature and letting the world to go by. The camp has twelve tents, dining room and a lounge.
The camp is part owned and run by a group of Masai from the local community. They will make sure guests get an insight to the Masai people and their culture as well as providing a good cuisine and personal service.
Apart from game drives, they can arrange walking safaris from the camp and night game drives.
The tents are well equipped and fully furnished. All have en-suite bathrooms and hot water showers. The camp is run on solar power. |

On the banks of the Talek River you will find the 15-tent Base Camp, one of the most ecologically friendly camps in Kenya. Both electricity and hot water are generated using solar power. All the wastewater from the tents is used to water over 3,000 trees and all the kitchen waste is separated and composted.
It is particularly designed for adventurers, nature lovers, hobby naturalists and photographers. It is for those who enjoy the feeling of being within and part of the wilderness they have come to observe, but who still enjoy the luxury of a hot shower, excellent meals and a comfortable bed.

This exclusive camp is spread along the river under doum palms overlooking the Galana River and the Yatta Plateau.
Accommodation is in 11 comfortable and spacious bandas (thatched, semi-tented bungalows on wooden platforms) each of which has en-suite bathrooms, verandas and are situated a good distance apart to provide privacy. Two of the bandas have separate sitting rooms and a large veranda on stilts and they are highly recommended for Honeymooners. The bathrooms are large and have traditional bucket showers, flush toilets and basins with running water.
